I’m an author, educator and SEND professional based in the North West of England. I’m proudly neurodivergent, and I’m passionate about helping people better understand ADHD, autism, sensory differences and, most importantly, themselves.
For years, I found myself wondering what was wrong with me. Why did things that seemed so easy for other people feel so difficult for me? Why did I feel so different? I spent so much time trying to change parts of myself, without realising that what I really needed was to understand them.
That journey of questioning, discovering and finally beginning to embrace the way I’m wired is what inspired me to write Social Battery Unplugged: My Journey, Your Self Discovery.
Through honest storytelling, a little humour and plenty of hindsight, I’m sharing my experiences, struggles and lightbulb moments in the hope that my journey might help you make sense of your own. Because sometimes, hearing someone else’s story is exactly what we need to start understanding ours.
Being different doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.
When I’m not writing or working in education, you’ll find me at home with my husband, our two boys and our much-loved dog. ❤️
